Abstract

Relevance of the topic. The realization of the goal of transition of the Russian Federation to the model of environmentally sustainable development requires the solution of a number of problems. They include the development of an indicator system and sustainability measures. Objective. Development of an operational integral measure of ecological development for diagnostics and monitoring of problems of sustainable development of Russian regions. Methodology. Methods of statistical correlation analysis, methods of intellectual data analysis and machine learning. Results and conclusions. An algorithm for constructing an integral measure of ecological development of regions has been developed. Sixty-nine indicators were analyzed and seventeen key indicators were selected. They are related to environmental, economic, agricultural, industrial and medical aspects and having a significant impact on the environment and public health. On the basis of the extended regression model the rating of ecological development of 85 subjects of the Russian Federation was compiled. Scope. Assessment of ecological and economic development of the region and making management decisions to improve sustainability.
