The relevance of the topic. In the light of climate problems and sustainable development, increasing the efficiency of the use of woody forest resources plays an important role in ensuring environmental sustainability and meeting the needs of society. Goal. The analysis of the literature of domestic and foreign scientists, the study of forest management methods and practices and the identification on this basis of the determinants of increasing the efficiency of the use of woody forest resources. Methodology. Methods of generalization and grouping of information, structural decomposition and incorporation, causal approach. Results and conclusions. Based on the analysis of scientific literature and assessment of the current situation in the field of forest management, priority determinants of increasing the efficiency of the use of woody forest resources (institutional (legislative) restrictions, regional resources, the quality of the forest fund and the price of the final product) have been identified, determining the need to develop appropriate organizational and methodological tools.
