Abstract
The relevance of research. Improving the system of local self-government and increasing its effectiveness is designed to contribute to the socio-economic development of the regions. With the uneven regional development characteristic of our country and a large number of subsidized regions, interaction between the state and municipal authorities, first of all, should be aimed at ensuring the socio-economic well-being of citizens. Goal. To consider the priorities of the budgetary policy of municipalities in conditions of uneven socio-economic development. Methodology. The following research tools were used: a systematic method, a method for analyzing the regulatory framework on the research topic. The scope of application. The results of the study can be used in the formation of the budgetary policy of municipalities of the Russian Federation. Results and conclusions. The main condition for the sustainable development of municipalities is the redistribution of spending powers and revenue sources in the field of inter-budgetary relations in favor of municipal authorities.
