Abstract
The relevance of the topic. Regional party building is one of the necessary factors for the development of modern Russia, the improvement of which is conditioned by the context of political regimes. Goal. To analyze regional party building in the context of regional political regimes. Methodology. Methods such as comparative analysis, the method of expert assessments, and a systematic approach were used. Results and conclusions. The mutual influence of three political phenomena is considered: party building, regional development and political regimes. The Russian Federation is a federal state, the diversity of its regions turns their development and interaction into a complex system, and, consequently, its functioning has consequences for a number of political institutions and processes. The development of regional specifics, local party building, and deepening of federalization processes leads to the formation of a horizontal level of state-building, which does not destroy the vertical of power and does not dilute centralization, but allows for regional specifics to be taken into account, increases the influence of civil society on the formation of government institutions and contributes to democratization unfolding at a new level. Scope of application. The results of the research can be used to study regional party building and its role in the development of democracy in Russia.
