Abstract
The relevance of the topic. The economic potential and opportunities for sustainable growth of regions are currently largely determined by the level and characteristics of scientific and technological development, which becomes the main goal of state policy in the regional sphere. Solving this problem helps to accelerate the independence and competitiveness of the Russian Federation by creating an effective system for building up and making the fullest use of the nation's intellectual potential. Goal. Analysis of the fundamental components of regional development, in particular, scientific and technological areas. Methodology. The methodological basis of the study consists of general scientific methods: statistical analysis and synthesis, generalization, a systematic approach; legislative and regulatory acts.
