The relevance of the topic. The Russian research tradition is manifested in a symbiosis of deep philosophical analysis and scientific rigor. Based on this approach, carried out in the spirit of the works of Fedorov, Tsiolkovsky, Vernadsky, modern research has received a new dimension - multidisciplinary. Multidisciplinary approach forms a unique synthesis of schools and approaches from various fields of knowledge. The appeal to multidisciplinarity is justified and explained by the complexity and ambiguity of the tasks being solved. The modern economy cannot be characterized solely by managerial or organizational terms. Researchers discover behavioral features in it, drawing attention to the high importance of cognitive aspects. Happiness economics, knowledge economics, cognitive economics — with these terms, scientists are trying to show which processes are currently dominating and what they are aimed at. Despite the pluralism of opinions, the unanimity of scientists is manifested in the fact that the driving force of development is currently recognized as mental, cognitive activity, which, with its content and positive orientation, should determine the course of evolution. 100 years ago, Vernadsky considered the onset of the Psychozoic era as a stage in the formation of a mindset in which cognition is a determining factor. Today, new perspectives for the realization of cognitive activity are opening up to us, further emphasizing the importance of the psychozoic. Based on the work of multidisciplinary scientists, it remains for modern researchers to formalize the observed institutionality and propose effective ways to ensure its further development. Goal. To investigate the features of cognitive-digital transformation as a phenomenon characterizing the current institutional situation. Methodology. Monographic method, method of analysis and synthesis, method of empirical generalization, historical and logical approach, graphical method, sectoral, behavioral, stakeholder and dialectical approaches, matrix method, system analysis, structuring method, method of analogies, allegories and associations. Results and conclusions. The modern institutional environment is shaped by two factors: cognition and digitalization. The symbiosis of cognitive activity and information technology determines the content of the most significant processes for the development of the economy and society as a whole. The mutual influence of cognition and digitalization leads to the emergence of a phenomenon that has already become widespread and dominates the global agenda. This phenomenon is the cognitive-digital transformation. Using a multidisciplinary approach, referring to the fundamentals of psychology, philosophy, economics, law and geology, the author suggests understanding cognitive-digital transformation as an evaluative characteristic of the parameters achieved by the global ecosystem during the institutional transformations accompanying the formation of a new technological order, characterized by a focus on the realization of creative potential as a result of cognitive activity, contributing to the acquisition of knowledge competencies as an adaptive resource that allows the use of digital technologies to create products necessary to ensure the sustainable (non-harmful to future generations) development of society and the economy. The cognitive component of cognitive-digital transformation is considered by the author from the perspective of determining the prospects for the development of collective thinking and artificial intelligence, as these areas are the most controversial and worthy of attention. The scope of application. Management of economic systems of any level of complexity in the context of cognitive and digital transformation; state regulation of processes accompanying the current institutional transition; management of socio-economic processes associated with the use of digital technologies; activation of cognitive potential as an adaptive opportunity.
