MECHANISMS FOR SUPPORTING PUBLIC INITIATIVES IN THE CONSTITUENT ENTITY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION: CURRENT STATUS AND RELEVANCE OF THEIR IMPROVEMENT (USING THE VORONEZH REGION AS AN EXAMPLE)

Abstract

Relevance of the topic. The development of civil society in modern conditions is impossible without taking into account the interests and needs of the majority of its members in government activities, which includes ensuring the rights and freedoms of each individual. Public initiatives provide citizens with the opportunity to express their opinions, identify their needs and interests, and encourage them to actively engage in decision-making at all levels of government. An analysis of the current state of mechanisms to support public initiatives in the Russian region is a pressing issue. A successful solution will create opportunities for improvement, which, in turn, will contribute to increased citizen satisfaction and ensure the sustainable development of the country as a whole. Objective: To analyze the current state of mechanisms to support public initiatives in the Voronezh Region and to justify the need for their improvement, proposing specific measures to improve the functioning of these mechanisms. Methodology: A theoretical analysis method was used to study the current state of mechanisms to support public initiatives in the Voronezh Region and identify key trends and problems in the functioning of these institutions. Results and Conclusions: An analysis of the current state of affairs revealed shortcomings in the functioning of support mechanisms for public initiatives in the Voronezh Region, and proposed specific measures for their improvement aimed at increasing the effectiveness of institutional instruments for civic participation.
