Studying the impact of these restrictions on SMEs is very important for adapting Russian businesses to new conditions, as well as building strategies and developing various measures that will ease the tension and contribute to the growth and development of companies. Goal. To identify the main ways of adaptation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the context of sanctions restrictions. Methodology. Various research methods are used in this work: bibliographic, graphic, systematization and generalization of information. When writing the paper, we used the results of research by various authors on the subject under consideration, published in leading publications, official data, and the authors' own conclusions. Results and conclusions. The analysis found that the sanctions led to a reduction in access to imported resources for SMEs, as well as an increase in logistics solutions and a reduction in export opportunities. However, successful adaptation practices have also been identified, such as reorientation to the domestic market, successful import substitution, and digitalization of business processes.
