In the article the peculiarities of the first practices of interpretation are analyzed basing on the example of Jewish tradition. The author emphasizes the difficulty of the system of objects and subjects of interpretation, shows the methodological system of ancient Judean legal interpretation and traces its connection with the modern techniques of legal interpretation.

Law and morality are the main regulators of the conduct of social subjects, but in the modern legal science the necessity of the interaction between law and morality, the consideration of moral norms while forming the content of the legal ones is doubted. Due to this it is necessary to address the theories of jusnaturalism and legal positivism once again, thinking over their value contents. In the article the antinomies of law and morality are analyzed, the arguments for the necessity of the moral content in law are suggested.
