Despite considerable scientific and practical interest in questions of development of social infrastructure as one of the directions of diversification of rural economy, still there is no ef- fective model of her development. Results of typification of municipal districts of the Voronezh region on the reached level of development of rural social infrastructure are given in article. The conceptual model of development of social infrastructure developed by authors in rural territories which structural elements are her purpose, tasks, the principles and the conceptual directions of development is presented. Use of the offered model as the instrument of strategic planning of modernization of rural social infrastructure will allow to create favorable conditions for life of peasants, to increase their employment and income and also to provide efficiency of functioning of institute of local government and business in the village that intensifies diversification developments of rural economy.
