Currently, the format of the innovative type of development of individual business structures and national economies in General is the most important condition for the successful functioning and development of the latter in a highly competitive market environment. This installation is very promising and longterm. All this proves the high degree of importance and relevance of theoretical, methodological and applied scientific research in this subject area. The aim of the study was to develop modern organizational and managerial methods and approaches aimed at improving the efficiency of management of innovative potential, activity, processes in order to achieve a sustainable trend of development of social and economic systems of innovative type. Under the assumption that the innovative type of development will allow modern production and economic systems to move to a higher level of development, the authors allowed the following range of key tasks: to analyze best practices and scientific achievements, as well as to identify a set of methods and approaches, the most adapted and applicable in practice to the study of the content and essence of the profile category of the subject of scientific research; to identify and study in detail the basic properties, functionality and prospects for the application of innovations; to study the principles of management of innovative projects for objectivity, sufficiency and utility; to develop and justify the block diagram of the iterative model of the «creative» phase of the innovation process; to briefly formulate the main stages of the work on the innovative project within the creative phase; to provide a list of key areas regarding the relevance and prospects for the use of innovative achievements with a view to improving the efficiency of modern economic systems. The achieved results will allow interested parties (researchers, industry specialists, specialized experts, managers, pedagogical personnel) to take a more reasonable and detailed look at the relevance, forms, methods, principles and prospects of innovation and innovative development of production and economic systems. In particular, the results can be applied in the educational process, in scientific research and practical implementation of business processes of innovative types from the standpoint of their justification, evaluation, analysis and planning.
