The article substantiates the need to improve the activities of the efficiency Center of the Voronezh region government. It is proposed to carry out a «reset» of this center, assigning to it the functions of coordination and methodological guidance of the Executive bodies of state power, focused on improving the efficiency of state management of the economy of the region.

The article presents the formulation of the key task of improving the efficiency of public administration of the region’s economy, associated with the formation of the mechanism of coordination of the interests of the subjects of the region’s economy. The author proposes an approach that determines, firstly, the selective composition of the structural components of the development strategy of the RF subproject, the development of which is necessary to involve those or other subprojects of the regional economy, and secondly, the tools by which their participation in this process is ensured.

The article provides a comparative description of points of view that reveal the essence and content of the effectiveness of state management of the region's economy. The author substantiates a theoretical and methodological approach to the study of the effectiveness of state management of the region's economy. The author's interpretation of its essence and content is proposed.
