RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN THE DAILY LIFE OF RUSSIAN YOUTH (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE VORONEZH REGION)

Abstract

The relevance of the topic. The migration processes taking place in the modern world affect the qualitative changes in its national component, which results in the coexistence of various religious organizations and movements in the historically established territory, raising the problem of tolerance to dissent. Purpose. To analyze the attitude of young people to the current picture of the diversity of religious movements in the territory of Voronezh, to study the nature of religious tolerance of young people. Methodology. Methods of analysis and classification of the current picture of religious organizations; a method of sociological research using a survey and a questionnaire. Results and conclusions. The analysis and assessment of the current situation on the territory of the Voronezh Region confirms the active activity of religious organizations of various confessional directions, both historically formed and appeared in connection with the increase in migration processes. The interfaith council, established by regional authorities, promotes the establishment of religious freedom and peaceful coexistence of different religious denominations. The data obtained as a result of the conducted sociological research indicate that the student youth has a weak understanding of world religions in general and of totalitarian sects operating in the region in particular.
