Abstract
The relevance of the topic. In recent decades, production and consumption waste management has become one of the key tasks in achieving sustainable development goals in almost all countries. The continuous increase in waste volumes leads to serious environmental problems, so the governments of many developed and developing countries are introducing various measures and developing new solutions to reduce waste levels and increase their recycling rates. Goal. Conducting a review and analytical study of current experience and future prospects for waste management in Russia, as well as a study of waste management methods and assessing the impact of the level of investment in infrastructure development on the volume of disposed and recycled waste. Methodology. When writing the article, general scientific methods of cognition were used. The relationship between the volume of waste processing and the level of investment was assessed based on correlation analysis. The results of the study are visualized in graphical form. Results and conclusions. The article provides a review and analytical study of the current experience of waste management in Russia. The authors, based on the presented results of the correlation analysis, concluded that in order to increase the effectiveness of waste management policies, shift the emphasis of waste management from their disposal towards recycling, as well as increase economic sustainability, an active government policy is needed to create and develop infrastructure for waste recycling, as well as developing policies to attract investment in this area. Scope of application. The results of the study may be in demand when developing programs for the sustainable development of the state, as well as increasing the efficiency of waste management policies.
