RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM IN THE VORONEZH REGION

Abstract

The relevance of the topic. The interethnic and interreligious harmony of the peoples of Russia is one of the most priority areas of activity of the state and regional governments. The analysis of the relations between peoples professing different religions is the basis for countering the radicalization of certain religious movements in the regions of the Russian Federation. Only an integrated approach to the study of the essence of religious extremism, the causes of its occurrence, will allow us to develop effective measures to combat it. Goal. To consider the phenomenon of religious extremism in Russia and the regions on the example of the Voronezh region. Methodology. The following research tools are used: comparative, systematic methods and structural and functional analysis method. Results and conclusions. The purpose of the state policy in the field of countering extremism is to increase the legal culture of the population and its religious literacy, maintain an appropriate level of coordination between the relevant state bodies, as well as provide ample opportunities for self-realization of young people. The scope of application. The results of the study can be used to study the security problems of the Russian Federation.
