Abstract
The relevance of the topic. The constitutional amendment prescribed by the 2020 law introduced the concept of «public power» for the first time in the history of Russia. Goal. Analysis of the system of public power, identification of the problem of interaction between public authorities and civil society institutions in the updated Constitution of the Russian Federation. Methodology. The following research tools are used: the method of analysis and synthesis, the method of comparison. Results and conclusions. Public power, within the framework of the organizational aspect, represents the power of state authorities and local self-government bodies, which currently form a single system of public power. The consolidation of the concept of «public power» in the new version of the Constitution is a timely decision, since the provisions on the unity of public power create the potential for its effective organization and implementation at all levels (federal, regional, municipal) in the interests of citizens.
