The relevance of the topic. The article is devoted to digital transformation, considered in three projections: result (goal, but not end in itself), process, conditions. The primary attention of the authors is focused on digital transformation in terms of the process. Continuity, complexity, and multivariance are highlighted as the principles of the digital transformation process, according to which a set of end-to-end key technologies are being implemented, representing instrumental support for institutional shifts that contribute to the transition to a more advanced technological order. The authors drew special attention to blockchain, artificial intelligence and augmented reality. The features of these technologies have repeatedly appeared in the epicenter of attention of modern researchers. Taking into account the high theoretical and practical interest in these digital transformation tools, the authors tried to determine the limits and prospects for their development in the economy and society, at the institutional moment in which we have to realize our potential, in accordance with the principle of historical justice. Goal. The study of the features of the practical implementation of blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence and augmented reality in the context of an institutional transition accompanied by the digital transformation of the economy and society. Methodology. Methods of logical and comparative analysis of ecosystem management practices at various levels, the method of analogies, methods of analysis and synthesis, empirical generalization, monographic method. Results and conclusions. Given the external threats and internal disturbances faced by the national ecosystem, the process of digital transformation, characterized by dynamism, can cause a contradictory attitude, as it can have both positive and destructive effects on the economy and society. The indisputable advantages of digital transformation in the practical plane, in areas beyond the reach of analysis and effective human impact, should be compared with the threats that cause the use of digital technologies in the spiritual, social and economic spheres. The following technologies are the most controversial: artificial intelligence, blockchain and augmented reality. It is their influence that has a pronounced polar character. In this regard, we have identified the limits and prospects of using these technologies, actualizing their creative positive aspects. The scope of application. Management of economic systems of any level of complexity, the structural elements of which come into interaction aimed at ensuring their development.
