Abstract

Relevance of the topic. The role of management consulting in the context of external challenges and threats to Russian business has increased significantly. To build sustainability and maintain competitive advantages, companies expect breakthrough solutions from professional consultants. However, under sanctions pressure, Russian consulting firms also found themselves in a difficult situation. Problems arose in staffing and maintaining competencies, information support for consulting activities. Objective of the study is to find solutions to develop the competencies of consultants and increase client confidence. Methodology. As part of the study, methods of system analysis, statistical analysis, analysis and synthesis, and graphical interpretation of data were used. Results and conclusions. The composition of the main driving and restraining forces on the management consulting market is presented and an assessment is made as a basis for further discussion by the professional community. Four key areas that determine the stability of development of consulting firms are substantiated: development of key competencies of management consultants in accordance with international standards of the profession; implementation of knowledge management systems; networking in the consulting community; formation of the brand of the consulting firm as a reliable partner of the client and employer. Scope. Management of consulting companies, training and advanced training of management consultants, formation of knowledge management systems, networking of consulting firms, marketing of consulting services.
