A MECHANISM TO INCREASE THE STRATEGIC COMPETITIVENESS OF REGIONAL INDUSTRIES

Abstract

Relevance of the topic. At the moment, the balanced development of industries and industrial complexes ensures the economic growth of the regions, the identification of «growth points.» The reverse process of managing regional competitiveness forces us to identify reserves for increasing the efficiency of industrial enterprises that form the basis of the regional economy. Multidirectional processes related to solving the issue of regional development imbalance, therefore, need to develop the theory of ensuring strategic competitiveness at the state, regional, interregional and municipal levels of government. Purpose. Development of a mechanism for increasing the strategic competitiveness of the region's industries, as well as its theoretical justification within the framework of rapidly developing foreign economic and foreign policy challenges. The mechanism is aimed at the stable development and strengthening of the strategic positions of the region and individual industries in the domestic and foreign markets. Methodology. The article substantiates the use of a systematic approach that combines system analysis, comparative analysis of indicators, as well as logical and structural modeling in order to develop a mechanism for increasing the strategic competitiveness of the region's industries, as well as assessing the directions for its implementation. Results and conclusions. An analysis of statistical data for 2022—2024 was carried out in innovation and technology, investment, personnel, social, environmental areas. Most of the indicators showed a positive trend, which indicates the effectiveness of the current policy of achieving competitiveness of industries at the regional level. The proposed mechanism serves as the basis for the development of national and interregional economic policy. Scope.
