The article deals with topical issues of formation and development of the institutional agricultural structure in Russia and abroad, as well as the current sectoral structure of agricultural production by categories of farms. The experience of the Russian Federation and foreign countries in carrying out agricultural structural policy is presented, proposals for the formation and development of an effective domestic agricultural structure are formulated.
