CURRENT ISSUES OF THE STATE POLICY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN THE FIELD OF ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY

Abstract

The relevance of the topic. The peculiarities of the modern policy of the Russian state on the development of the national electric power complex are conditioned by the need to ensure the energy security of Russia as an important direction of state policy. Goal. To analyze the current policy of the Russian Federation to improve the domestic electric power industry with an emphasis on the technological and institutional problems of the functioning of the industry, the solution of which is necessary for the further development of the electric power sector. Methodology. Such methods of scientific research as the comparative method, the historical method, and the analysis of sources were used. Results and conclusions. The economic basis for the stabilization of Russia’s political system is supported by the country’s consolidating role in the global energy market. The struggle for energy resources is the most important factor in the modern global political process, the dynamics of which under the influence of globalization acquires new features. The indisputable fact is the social and economic importance of the electric power sector for national and international markets. The geopolitical importance of energy increases the degree of importance of electric power facilities for the modern Russian state. Scope of application.
