Abstract
Subject. Relevance of the topic. In conditions when aggressive sanctions and military actions of NATO countries aim to weaken the economic and political sovereignty of Russia, when conducting a special military operation is an objective necessity, the country's leadership has to simultaneously solve problems such as ensuring stable economic growth, and strengthening the country's military power. In this situation, the development of the military-industrial complex (DIC), which has historically concentrated the country's most advanced technologies, becomes a priority direction of the industrial policy of the Russian Federation. The priority of the development of the defense industry is explained by its proactive role in scientific and technological progress, through the development of information and innovative technologies, including for a number of related industries. Purpose. A study of the current state of the defense industry, the level of its state support to determine the possibilities of using technologies created in this area in the civilian sector of the economy, ultimately contributing to the economic development of the country. Methodology. An analysis of actual data was carried out using structuring methods, which makes it possible to identify, detail and systematize the most effective ways of developing defense industry enterprises. Results and conclusions. The article determines that the defense industry is an integral part of the national economic system and national security. The total volume of production at defense industry enterprises is constantly growing, and almost all regions are participating in one way or another in the creation of the necessary weapons. The study established that the practical implementation of the approved state program for the development of the defense industry will contribute to the further improvement of the technologies used, the expansion of arms exports, the optimization of diversification measures related to the creation of high-tech military, civil and dual-use products, and the development of human resources of enterprises and defense industry organizations. Scope of application: practice of ensuring defense capability and national security as part of the development of a state security strategy.
