Abstract

Currently, the accident rate in road transport remains one of the most acute socioeconomic problems of the country, and has a significant impact on ensuring the economic security of the Russian Federation. The article discusses the use of the program oriented and goal oriented method as the basis of state administration in the field of road safety. The program documents of strategic planning that ensure the implementation of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation have been studied. The analysis of the implementation of the activities of the Federal Target Program “Improving Road Safety in 2013-2020” has been carried out. It is concluded that the use of program targeted management methods in this area significantly improved the situation with road traffic accidents in the country and in the Voronezh region and provided the possibility of prolonged planning in the field of road safety and economic security of the state as a whole. The directions of improving the professional training of drivers of vehicles are proposed.
