ECONOMIC AND STATISTICAL STUDY OF ACTIVITIES OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN RUSSIA

Abstract

Relevance of the topic. Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian economy occupy one of the leading positions, as they promptly respond to market requests and provide the population with jobs. Accordingly, studying the state and prospects for the development of this sector of the economy is an urgent task. Purpose. Economic and statistical analysis of the situation with the organization of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia and the peculiarities of its conduct. The objectives of the study are: consideration of theoretical and methodological approaches to economic and statistical analysis of small and medium-sized businesses; assessment of structural movements of key indicators; assessment of development prospects in an unstable macroeconomic environment. Methodology. General methods of scientific knowledge as - analysis, synthesis, analogy, comparison, comparison, generalization, classification. Statistical methods were also used, in particular the grouping method, tabular and graphical methods. Results and conclusions. Over the period 2010—2022, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises is increasing, while at the end of 2021 they employed 25 % of all employees of the Russian economy, this indicates the importance of the sector in the Russian economy; despite the covid crisis experienced in 2020—2021. small and medium-sized businesses have increased their turnover, which emphasizes their role in providing the population and business with goods and services.
