The relevance of the topic. Today, as never before, the policy of the Russian Federation is aimed at the development of agriculture in order to ensure food security in the face of ever-increasing sanctions. Accordingly, one of the priority areas of sustainable growth of the agro-industrial complex is given a special place to the development of agricultural cooperation. Goal. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the conditions and prospects for the development of agriculture on the basis of cooperation. Methodology. The research includes the following methods: dialectical, analytical, statistical, economic information, graphic image. The theoretical basis was the works of scientists on the research topic, regulatory legal acts regulating the activities of agricultural cooperation, federal and regional development programs. Results and conclusions. The analysis of the development of agricultural cooperation is carried out, the importance of state participation is justified not only from the standpoint of financial support, but also the improvement of regulatory legal acts, legislation, compliance with the principles of cooperation. The reasons for restraining the development of agricultural cooperation have been identified, one of which to this day remains the disparity in prices for agricultural products and the purchase of material and technical resources.
